The Rural Network Welcomes Ray White Rural Hawkesbury

By Laura Tacey

HAWKESBURY real estate stalwart Peter Chidgey has expanded into the rural market with the opening of his fifth office in the region.

After almost 20 years with Australia’s leading agency, Ray White, and three decades in real estate, Mr Chidgey is taking on the rural market with Ray White Rural Hawkesbury.

He is currently director of a Ray White franchise that spans Windsor, Richmond, North Richmond, Pitt Town and Wisemans Ferry. Running out of his existing Richmond office, he said the rural business gives him scope to list and sell larger rural land holdings throughout the Hawkesbury area.

“In the past, operating out of our Windsor office, we would go up against those high end rural-specific competitors,” Mr Chidgey said.

“I felt we needed something in the marketplace to separate that thinking, and that’s been the journey we’ve been on to create a broader spectrum of clients.”

The Hawkesbury is well known for its top quality equine industry, which Mr Chidgey is no stranger to after being heavily involved in horse breeding for a number of years.

“The Hawkesbury is famous for some of the largest equine activity in the southern hemisphere. There are world-renowned polo and racehorse properties, training facilities and stud farms in the Richmond and Windsor areas, of which we are looking to build a competitive market share in the industry,” he said.

“We are looking to service that client base with Ray White Rural Hawkesbury and will be bringing on rural expert, Fiona Neil, to the team to help serve the market better.

“There is a big market there and our ambition is to become market leaders in the equine industry.”

The powerhouse Ray White business owner also recently opened his fourth office through Ray White and said he tries to emulate the Group’s values within his own team.

“I love the family element of Ray White. It’s very rare to find in a franchise and it’s a big reason for me as to why I’ve stayed loyal to the brand for almost two decades,” Mr Chidgey said.

“We pride ourselves on not needing to be sharp real estate agents, we are salt of the earth people of integrity and what we say is what we’re going to do.

“When you take that with you to every single customer interaction and develop trust with your client then you won’t go backwards in business.”

Ray White Rural and Livestock Managing Director Stephen Nell welcomed Mr Chidgey to the rural network.

“We are immensely proud that such a well-known Ray White veteran and business leader has chosen to open a rural office with us,” Mr Nell said.

“I have no doubt Peter will be just as much of an asset to the rural team as he has been within the larger group. I look forward to celebrating his future success and wish him all the best.”
