The final hammer has fallen on the 2021 Epic Horse Sale hosted by Ray White Livestock. Avid buyers and spectators from across the nation competed for 52 Australian Stock Horses and nine Quarter Horses with a clearance rate of 86%.
This is the first year that the Epic Horse Sale has received interest from the United States with bidding coming through on a number of lots with Ray White’s online partners StockLive.
The top priced mare, Lot 69 One Moore Gift (pictured below), was sold by vendor TC and LE McCarthy and was purchased for $30,000 by Jim Lyons Agency.
The top priced geldings, Lot 20 Billy Ray, was sold by vendor Cathy Meyer and was purchased for $25,000 by Mount Riddock Pastoral Co in the Northern Territory. Lot 32 Pimpampa Bing was sold by vendor Nicholas Clydsadale and was purchased for $25,000 by K & M Webber.

“It was incredible to see the wider horse and livestock industry come together to support both the campdraft and sale over the weekend. It was humbling to see the broader Ray White Livestock network unite to support the Kempsey Livestock team ” said Ray White Rural Managing Director Stephen Nell.
“It’s a testament to the skill and reputation of Daniel South, Blake O’Reilly and Bruce Birch who are responsible for coordinating the Epic Horse Sale and Campdraft.”
Ray White Rural Kempsey Principal Daniel South was thrilled with the results. Compared to last year’s overall average, the sale saw an increase of more than $4000, a new record. Mr South thanked all the event partners and stakeholders of the 2021 Epic Sale for making the event a success.
“I am extremely happy with the outcome of the horse sale results, it was great to see some of the country’s best bloodlines fall under the hammer for solid prices,” Mr South said.
“We had Libby Hufton and Ali Colless from StockLive on the grounds. Their system brought 1010 online viewers and 65% of the sale activity came from bidding online. They were also responsible for fantastic live, real-time footage at the two day campdraft event. Incorporating the StockLive platform really opened up the buyers market and that was evident with the results we saw from StockLive today. “
“On behalf of the Epic Team, we’re very thankful for the broader Ray White network who have travelled as far north as Townsville, Queensland and as far south as [TBC]. To me, this shows just the calibre of expertise, and commitment to the industry within Ray White Rural. Working together to achieve incredible results.”
“We are looking forward to upping the Incentive Campdraft next year with open aged horses and increased prize money”.
