Ray White Rural Albury expands to stud stock

By Laura Tacey

Ray White Rural Albury has finalised a merger with successful stud consultancy GTSM to form a one-stop rural business serving clients Australia-wide in the area of beef, sheep, horses, machinery, clearance and real estate sales.

Ray White Rural Albury Director James Brown said he was excited about the future with his expanded business.

“Our main business has always been commercial livestock across the western districts of Victoria to the central slopes of NSW. We have three commercial agents in Albury and we cover a huge demographic area for our clients. This merger allows us to offer stud stock services to our commercial clients and commercial services to stud clients,” he said.

There’s been a dramatic increase in livestock prices across the board this year – particularly lamb and beef – after an unusual stint of mild spring weather.

GTSM (Glasser Total Sales Management) was started by Michael and Marion Glasser near Wodonga, and have been friends with James Brown for more than 20 years.

“We have been friends and colleagues over many years and always lend each other a hand. There are a lot of synergies between our two businesses and by merging we can offer stud stock services too. The benefits to our customers will be immense as we are part of the Ray White network and that is a national business,” he said.

Michael and Marion Glasser started GTSM a decade ago and it is now well known as a sales management consultancy and auctioneering business serving clients from Western Australia to Queensland.

“In our first year as GTSM we conducted 12 auction sales and now we do upwards of 60 sales a year,” he said.

“I am not going anywhere now we have joined Ray White. For me this was the perfect succession plan and I am enjoying the networking side of joining Ray White and I will continue to manage many sales and build customer relationships.”

Mr Glasser first experienced sales management during a stint in the US in 1986 when he won a scholarship from the Angus Society to Michigan State University.

“After that I went into mainstream agency business from 1989 to 2019 and then 10 years ago we started our own business GTSM,” he said, “the sales management system just made sense to me”.

“I have been friends with James for more than 20 years and we have long term plans together. I am excited about the future.”

Ray White Rural Managing Director Stephen Nell congratulated the pair on their merger. “This is a very exciting time for the rural network and we wish James and Michael all the best for their business together.”
